TRIP REPORT
I set off from Queensferry at 7am in the rain and arrived at Puffin at 9:30 am, after preparing the boat I met Ally and we sorted our Kit out, Warren,Gavin and Ronnie arrived about 10:40 and we got kit loaded and launched the Boat.
First Dive was to be on the Breda, about 20minutes away, it was a nice day once the rain stopped and the sun started to shine, we arrived at the Breda, there was a boat on the stern so we tied onto the Bow line, it was breezy but bright and clear, Stevie dropped in with Ally and Ronnie and after a circuit of the wreck and a cold safety stop
we surfaced after 38 minutes.
Warren went in with Gavin and after a similar Dive they surfaced, it was cold at 7degrees, and felt a lot colder at 6 metres.
We set off for Puffin with Ally driving and just managed to miss the Hamburger Van - again! so after a Coffee and a bite to eat we changed cylinders and set off to dive the Wall at Aird na Cuile, about a mile south of Puffin.
I didnt Dive the second dive as I had to be back in Edinburgh early so i drove the Rib.
The wall looks impressive in bits on the sounder with depths in excess of 70 metres seen 20m from the shore!
They all dropped in as a four in about 15 metres and i was able to follow their bubbles and see them at about 10m! after 35minutes the Delayed SMB appeared and I was able to pick them all up and we shot off back to Puffin.
I then left them to recover the Boat and take it to its new home at Newbridge in the old Continental Tyre Factory.
A long day but worth doing and im sure Ally and Gavin enjoyed there first Wreck dives
