21 Nov 2006 - Nitrox Course December or January ?
As promised Stevie intends to run a Combined Nitrox Course for SQSAC.possible dates are 9/10 December or 13/14 January.
Due to full social Diaries for Christmas looks like the favourite dates are 13/14 January.
The Plan is to run a Basic Nitrox for Ocean Divers and a Combined Nitrox (Basic and Advanced) for Sports Divers.
Basic Nitrox allows you to use the most common mixes of 32 and 36% Oxygen
Combined Nitrox moves on to using up to 50%mixes for decompression.
The Basic Course consists of a day of lectures and a Theory test with some hands -on Analysing of gases,
The Combined Nitrox is the same except with some Dive Planning and two Dives which involve launching a DSMB and doing simulated deco stops at 9 and 6m on
a decompression gas, lots of reg switching and 'hanging about.' !
Can I encourage everyone who is not qualified to at least do the Basic Course as use of Nitrox is encouraged within this Club
