29 Jan 2007 - *** NEW *** The U21 Story

I started off investigating the sinking of the Royal Archer and discovered a far more interesting story...
in 1914 at the start of WW1, U21 torpedoed the Cruiser HMS Pathfinder in the Forth, right on the doorstep of the Home Fleet, Twenty Five years later in 1939 at the outbreak of WW2, another U21 entered the Forth and laid mines as far up river as Inchkeith and Leith sinking two merchant ships and nearly destroying a Brand New Cruiser HMS Belfast, as well as causing the loss of two RAF Hampden Bombers.
This one patrol probably accounted for even more ships, we will maybe never know.
