Colin Steele on the 'Um El Faroud', at Wied Iz Zurrieqhe , South of the Island.
A Long Suface swim, or be smart and use a pleasure boat for 5 Maltese pounds to drop you in on top of the Wreck!
The Faroud is a Libyan wreck that was being worked on in a Maltese dock when an explosion on board killed 9 Maltese dockworkers. After 3 years it was moved to its current position where it was scuttled for use as a dive site. There is a brass plaque on the wreck as a memorial to those who died. The Faroud is huge at 10,000 tons

Colin on one of the Lifeboat davits on the upper deck of the Faroud.
You can start your Dive in the Bilges at 36 metres and work up through the ship all the way to the Bridge at 23 metres, lots of escape routes to open water, but this is a Penetration Dive and only for experienced Divers.
There can be strong currents off the wreck, nice reef on the way back to the exit at the Blue Grotto.

Colin washing his hands in the shower room, lots of sharp edges and oily ,rusty bits to scrape yourself on , handy having a sink there - a stunning dive.

A Fireworm - If you see one of these DONT TOUCH they are poisonous,
they come in all kinds of colours red, green, yellow, grey.

Ian Oliva at Gahr-Lapsi an interesting entry into a natural pool, and down through a cave, with Congers! out into the Sea, long reef with a nice wall, getting out is a reverse of the entry, but a hard climb up a steep hill to the carpark at the Cafe where you can get a nice cold beer.

Joe Carson at 40 metres just off the 'Xlendi' .At the bottom you can just see the roof of a car which lies there.
A great dive on Gozo, tricky to find the track down to the shore.

Joe Carson with a Jellyfish on a Deco stop on the reef at Mgarr-ix-Xini , after a Dive on the 'Xlendi'.
